We are all about person-centred care and best practice.Position PurposeThe role of the Disability Support Worker is to provide support to participants that is flexible and individualised and to facilitate participant involvement in daily activities and living skills programs across all services.Essential: Compliance DocumentsCertificate III or IV or above in Disability or Aged CareNDIS Worker Screening Check100 points of ID (Citizenship/Passport/Driver License/Visa & Granted Form, Medicare Card or government Issued Document)Police ClearanceFirst Aid + CPRManual HandlingMedication certificateCar RegoCar Insurance ComprehensiveCovid-19 Vaccinations 3 doseMUST BE AVAILABLE AT LEAST 5 DAYS-FULL TIMECompulsory FREE Online TrainingFREE TRAINING Proof of completion of theNew worker NDIS induction moduleWorker Orientation ModuleSupporting effective communicationSupporting safe and enjoyable MealsCovid 19 FREE Training by GAVALCovid 19 Infection Control Training FREEPersonal protective equipment trainingDesirableAn understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)Experience working as disability support workers, preferableComputer literateTasks & ResponsibilitiesAssisting participants to perform important daily activities and home-based tasks.Provide short-term focused interventions, psycho-education, and mentoring.Facilitating daily personal hygiene and care tasks.Assisting with coordinating and facilitating community access.Providing emotional support and encouragement.Facilitating participant communication and enhancing their choice and decision-making processes.Implementing and monitoring Behaviour Management Strategies as required.Goal Planning and trackingEmpowering participants with learning, skill development and employment.Transporting participants to medical and other appointments, and social activities as required.Upholding the rights, independence and dignity of all participants, ensuring confidentiality and their choices are recognised at all times.
