The Disability and Inclusion Administration Assistant is an Education Support Staff member, who assists in the design and management of supports that ensure that diverse learners are engaged in education and meeting their learning goals. They work collaboratively with the Disability Inclusion Leader, school's leadership, sub-schools and wellbeing staff. They also work collaboratively with services/teams outside of the college, which may include Health and Wellbeing Inclusion Workforces, liaising with Student Support Services key contacts and external therapists. The Disability and Inclusion Administration Assistant plays a key role in assisting the coordination of the team around the diverse learner.
HOURS NEGOTIABLE
ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support to the Inclusion Leader with record keeping associated with students in the Inclusion Program.Assist with the creation and maintenance of the Learning Support Officer timetable, including monitoring the school day for daily adhoc adjustments.Liaise and assist with the coordination of specialist services operating within the college for students with disabilities (e.g. Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapists, Visiting Teachers, Student Support Services Officers (SSSO) and external assessment, support services and stakeholders).Assist with the creation and maintenance of Allied Health Support timetables, including placing this information on Compass, and monitoring for adhoc adjustments.Assist with the coordination and maintaining of inclusion program records, including but not limited to, team meeting records, disability inclusion profiles, SSG records.Assist with the creation of quality individual education plan (IEP) that incorporate student voice in setting learning targets.Edit, proofread, and roll out IEPs to relevant families.Assist with student funding applications and the rollout of DI (Disability and Inclusion) reforms.Assist with the coordination of student assessments, including the implementation of adjustments.Organise modified practice exam timetables, exam supervision and exam distribution for students in 9, 10, 11 and 12.Act as a source of advice for staff about differentiated teaching strategies.Liaise with parents/carers via telephone, email and in person.Attend SSG and other student-based meetings as required.Maintain minutes of all CTM, SSG and Team meetings, or other meetings as required.In conjunction with the Inclusion leader manage, prioritise, and assign excursions to Inclusion ES team.Work in conjunction with Inclusion Leader to plan and organise student free days for ES (Education Support) staff.Promote and support the professional development of Education Support Staff to enable better quality interaction, response to and support of students educational and social needs.Support students in the inclusion program (in consultation with the relevant sections of the school community including parents, teachers, Sub School and Year Level Leaders, Student Support Services Team, Learning Support Officers and Special Education Teachers).Promote and support the professional development of teachers and Learning Support Officers in the understanding of specific student disabilities and interventions to enable better quality provision of relevant and meaningful curriculum.Assist Wellbeing department with administrative duties (eg: lodging IRIS alerts) as required.Other duties as directed by the Inclusion Leader.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience, and qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
