Director, Urban Water Strategy Policy & Programs
to drive the delivery of state-wide urban water policy, strategy, programs and water utility performance benchmarking and reporting functions to meet the needs of a growing urban population, working in partnership with customers and stakeholders in order to achieve great outcomes for the community.The role also provides leadership and coordination to the State-Owned Water Utilities in relation to strategic planning, drought and regulation.Key accountabilities include:Drive the development of strategic evidence-based policy and planning advice and support to Ministers and the Executive Team to manage a forward program for legislative and policy reform and review.Deliver key water initiatives including, the implementation of the Greater Sydney Water Strategy and water regulation, drought management, water rebate schemes and licencing frameworks to ensure effective oversight, planning and management of water resources.Devise, implement and drive new and innovative water regulation, licensing and management policies and policy change to deliver socio-economic and environmental benefits that support more liveable communities.Anticipate, respond to and mitigate impediments to effective policy review and reform, particularly where implementation is controlled by other divisions or agencies within the Department, the cluster or across the public sector.The role operates with a high level of autonomy to develop cross-organizational policy solutions and initiatives, drive the delivery of assessment advice and to change priorities within approved business plans.DCCEEW conserves and protects the state's natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.
