The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.

The Opportunity
As the Director Remote Aboriginal Housing in the Housing and Homelessness division, you will lead a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of housing and municipal programs and services to remote communities and town based reserves. You will lead the planning and oversee delivery of $150 million investment to build new homes and refurbish existing homes, making a significant contribution to Closing the Gap targets. You will work in partnership with Aboriginal communities and across the agency and other government agencies to deliver the program of investment.
You will also provide portfolio and service stewardship through existing operational budgets to ensure a high-quality housing service. The role provides advice on community engagement, investment strategies, program planning, housing policy and practice in a remote community context.
