Director Regulatory Operations, various opportunitiesThe Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) is seeking skilled professionals to fill various Director (EL2) vacancies within our Regulatory Operations Group (ROG).
Director, Estates Administration: Responsible for overseeing the management and administration of estates, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.Director, Official Receiver Notice: Responsible for managing and overseeing personal insolvency matters.Director Practice Quality and Improvement: Lead the development of best practices for the Division within the Official Trustee function and world-class service delivery solutions.Director Regulatory Programs: Lead and build a high performing team to achieve regulatory outcomes consistent with the agency's strategic objectives.To be successful in these roles, applicants must be comfortable exercising judgement governed by critical thinking, the application of rules and regulations, and evidence-informed best practices. High levels of personal integrity are expected in these roles. The roles also oversee the preparation of advice and analysis for a range of audiences. Personal characteristics such as adaptability and resilience are necessary to help teams navigate evolving regulatory landscapes.
You will monitor and regulate personal insolvency practitioner conduct, monitor proposals submitted by debtors and bankrupts, administer complex administrations, handle highly complex complaints, and prepare decisions with respect to the Inspector-General's statutory review power. The teams provide analysis and improve our business systems to ensure our regulatory operations remain modern and contemporary. You will also be required to provide coaching, advice, and support to junior staff. You may be delegated as a decision maker or assist with ensuring evidence and materials support decisions by senior delegates to exercise statutory powers.
A merit pool may be created as a result of this process, which may be used to fill similar roles within AFSA on both an ongoing and non-ongoing basis for up to 18 months from the date of advertising.

You must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for employment with AFSA and be willing to undergo and maintain a security clearance to the level of Baseline Vetting as a condition of employment. To satisfy character requirements, all prospective AFSA employees must undergo a police records check. Where a person has received a redundancy benefit from APS agency employment and their corresponding redundancy benefit period has not expired, they may be ineligible for employment.
