Procurement ACT currently has an opening for a Director in its Probity Advisory Services. If you're a switched-on procurement professional looking to make an impact, this could be an exciting opportunity for you.
In this role, you'll leverage your probity expertise in government procurement to deliver quality services and work closely with the Senior Director of the Probity Advisory Services, Procurement ACT executive and business areas to ensure that ACT Government probity requirements are met.
You'll thrive in an autonomous environment, contributing to Procurement ACT's success in delivering procurement-related services to ACT Government agencies. These procurements have a direct impact on the local Canberra community – such as events, schools, hospital services and medical equipment, ICT software/hardware, professional services, sporting fields and similar.

A day in the life of the role
providing ad-hoc advice to ACT Government agencies on probity-related issues
acting as a probity advisor for procurements across ACT Government agencies
referring ACT Government agencies to external probity advisors, auditors and legal advisors
delivering presentations, training and other capacity building activities to ACT Government agencies
The Probity Advisory Service is a new service established in Procurement ACT in January 2024 as part of the Procurement Reform Program.
Procurement ACT is responsible for the development and implementation of whole- of-Government procurement policies. Procurement ACT also provides procurement-related services to ACT Government agencies and the community, including in relation to whole of government arrangements.
Procurement ACT is part of the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD). CMTEDD leads the public sector and works collaboratively both within government and with the community to achieve positive outcomes.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Educational and professional qualifications checks and /or police and security may be undertaken prior to employment.
Formal qualifications and previous practice in law or other formal advisory service will be highly regarded, but not mandatory.
The position is not engaged as a lawyer.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
