Ongoing role based in central office locations, Sydney, Parramatta and Gosford; an in-office presence required.

Total Remuneration Package from $239,483 to $263,586 commensurate with experience
About the Role
As the Director, Policy, Practice & Programs at SafeWork NSW, you'll be driving regulatory strategy, policy, and program design to enhance the agency's impact across NSW.
You'll lead analysis, program design and evaluation to inform high-level decision-making, reform operational policies, and optimise legislative frameworks.
Your work will directly influence how the agency approaches regulatory obligations, ensuring its strategies align with government priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes for NSW's citizens and businesses.

In this role, you'll work closely with senior leadership, providing expert advice and collaborating with stakeholders across government, industry, and community sectors to ensure the agency's strategies and programs reflect diverse viewpoints and remain relevant to emerging priorities.

Role Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and interpretation of complex policy and doctrine to provide expert insights that drive decision-making and improve the effectiveness of the agency.

Review and reform existing strategies, legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure they align with government priorities and deliver optimal outcomes.

Lead strategic planning and performance management initiatives, ensuring policies and programs are clearly articulated, implemented, and measured for success.

Stay up to date with best practices and emerging trends, collaborating with other government agencies and professional organisations to continuously improve SafeWork NSW's services and regulatory practices.

Apply risk management principles to identify and address internal and external risks that could impact agency deliverables, while promoting innovation and customer-focused outcomes.

Provide strategic advice to senior executives and work across directorates to ensure all programs and challenges are addressed and communicated effectively.

Cultivate a positive, inclusive culture within the team and ensure best practices in resource allocation, change management, and financial oversight.
