Details: Procurement ACT is seeking a Director, Policy Development looking to drive key procurement policies for the Territory government. These roles will give you the opportunity to work on interesting initiatives that support meaningful change in how the Territory government conducts procurement.
The Director, Policy Development role will develop, advise on, and implement procurement legislation, policies, and procedures across a variety of subject matters such as gender equality, sustainability and circular economy, safety, industrial relations, economic development, and modern slavery. They will also be required to assist in the delivery of outcomes for the development and implementation of training, templates, guidance materials, and other engagement activities to upskill the ACT Government workforce in the technical expertise of procurement.
The ideal applicant will have a sound understanding of the ACT Government Procurement Framework, high-quality written and oral communication skills, the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders, and experience in the preparation of documentation such as policies, briefs, cabinet submissions, and training material.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience working in the fields of procurement, policy, law, or digital communications are desirable but not mandatory.Skills or the ability to acquire them in the use of software (Articulate, Vyond, Canva etc.) to support the design and technical build of eLearning modules are desirable.Experience in navigating processes and developing high-level documents for Cabinet and the Assembly are desirable.Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of permanency. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
