Director - Policy Development
Full-time PermanentDetails: Procurement ACT is looking for an experienced professional to join our team in leading innovative and meaningful whole of government procurement legislation and policy.
We operate in a fast paced and dynamic environment to deliver key Government priorities. Our procurement policy agenda will progress a range of imperatives ranging from the enhancing ACT Government's overarching Procurement Values, the application of procurement policies to incentivise local and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enterprise engagement and delivery of the Government's overarching Procurement Reform Program. You will work with a small and dedicated team to develop, implement and evaluate procurement-related legislation and policy. Our team believes in solving problems through collaboration and innovation, with a commitment to the highest standards of performance and public service values.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has exceptional policy development skills with the ability to lead a team to work with competing priorities and tight deadlines. The role requires well-developed written and oral communication skills with substantial experience in preparing formal written documentation for Ministerial, Cabinet and senior executive consideration as well as the ability to represent the Government in internal and external forums. A key part of the role includes driving the implementation of the aspects of the Procurement Reform Program (for example amendments to legislation and streamlining and maintaining procurement templates) and supporting implementation across the ACT Public Service. Formal qualifications and experience in government administration and policy development are highly regarded.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
