This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team and make a significant impact on the Organisation's success.Your new roleAs the Director, Policy and External Relations, you will:Lead strategic projects and initiatives.Provide policy advice to the Executive Leadership Team.Act as the primary liaison with various ministers, local officials and government agencies.Foster a high-performance, innovative, and responsive workplace culture.Manage organisational governance and sensitive information.Ensure timely submissions to the Board, Executive Leadership, and government bodies.Represent the office of the chief executive internally and externally, building productive relationships.Oversee communications to enhance the Organisation's reputation and strategic priorities.Provide leadership for research, analysis, project management, and policy development.Coordinate complex and politically sensitive reports and communications.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in the role you will have:Relevant tertiary qualification and extensive experience.Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and deadline management skills.Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.Experience working with senior executives, Board members, and government officials.Advanced data, analytical, and writing skills.Experience in strategic support, operating with sensitivity and discretion.Proven ability to lead strategic projects and high-level analysis.Ability to identify and address problems and risks.Leadership in developing and motivating staff.Resilience and adaptability in changing environments.Ability to lead a diverse workforce and promote high performance.Understanding of South Australia Government regulations and the parliamentary cycle.Awareness of emerging issues in the Education Sector.Experience in project management methodologies would be desirable.What you'll get in returnAn opportunity to lead a high-performing team within a supportive and dynamic environment.
