A merit list or pool may be used for up to 18 months.This merit list/pool may be used to fill other vacancies in Canberra.About the Department of Parliamentary ServicesThe Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Executive Level 2 Director Parliamentary Broadcasting within Digital Recording Services Branch. The Department supports the work of the Australian Parliament and Australian Parliament House and is responsible for a wide range of services and facilities. DPS has over 1,000 employees working across a diverse range of areas including corporate services, security and building maintenance, reporting and broadcasting, library services, catering, visitor and art services, and ICT services.The Information Services Division (ISD) provides information and communications technology, Hansard, and broadcasting services to the Parliament. ICT services are provided to Parliament House, Electorate Offices across Australia, and Commonwealth Parliament Offices.The Director Parliamentary Broadcasting leads the section that records, broadcasts, and archives the audio-visual record of parliament, parliamentary committee proceedings, and special events held at the Australian Parliament House. The role provides leadership in implementing and promoting change and continuous improvement, positioning the section to meet stakeholder expectations, and delivering modern, accessible, and seamless services to the Australian Parliament. The role is also critical in ensuring that broadcasting modernisation projects consider technologies, requirements, and approaches that align with the parliamentary operating environment.The ideal candidate will be:Passionate about working in a hands-on, highly varied and proactive role, operating in a fast-paced and agile environment. You will operate under broad direction, using your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, experience working across operational and project environments, and ability to respond in a constantly changing environment.You will be a responsible leader, who ensures that the branch and division is seen as a valued service provider and contributes to the strategic goals of the Australian Parliament Digital Strategy 2023-27. You will be a strong advocate for sustained cultural change, role modelling the attributes and behaviours required to support broadcasting modernisation.The successful applicant will have experience working within Australian Government agencies or with state and territory governments.The key duties of the position include:Extensive knowledge and understanding in the disciplines of broadcasting and recording is highly desirable, as is the ability to prepare digital content to parliamentary broadcast standards.The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.NotesAt DPS, we acknowledge the value diversity brings.
