Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is seeking an experienced and passionate Paediatrician to take on the role of Director of Paediatric Medicine.
This is a unique opportunity to provide clinical leadership in a dynamic healthcare setting, ensuring the delivery of high-quality paediatric services across the Gippsland region.
The Director of Paediatric Medicine is responsible for overseeing Paediatric services at LRH, including clinical leadership, administrative management, and the supervision and training of both senior and junior medical staff.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered, while working within the framework of LRH's Values and Clinical Governance Structure.
About our Paediatric service:

At LRH, our Paediatric service is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children from birth through adolescence.
With a Level 4 Neonatal and Level 5 Maternity capability, our service plays a critical role in supporting the health and well-being of children in the Gippsland region.
The Paediatric team works closely with multidisciplinary professionals, including obstetricians, emergency physicians, allied health staff, and nurses, ensuring a holistic approach to Paediatric care.
The service is well-supported by an enthusiastic and skilled team of paediatricians and nursing staff, providing both inpatient and outpatient care.
Our facilities include a dedicated Paediatric Ward and Special Care Nursery, ensuring we cater to a wide range of health needs for our youngest patients.
As Director, you will oversee the strategic development of these services, working to ensure continued growth and excellence in patient care.
Key responsibilities:

Provide medical and administrative leadership within the Paediatric service.
Deliver specialist Paediatric care within the credentialed scope of practice.
Supervise and mentor Medical Students, Interns, Registrars, and Nursing staff.
Participate in on-call duties and work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Obstetricians, Emergency Department, Allied Health, and Nursing staff.
Contribute to clinical governance, strategic planning, and service development within LRH.
Lead and participate in clinical audits, quality assurance activities, and research.
Ensure compliance with professional standards, and promote the ongoing professional development of Paediatric staff.

About you:

Ideal candidates for this role will have: Registered Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
Significant experience in Paediatrics, including leadership and management roles within a hospital setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage and lead staff.
Proven ability to introduce and manage change in a clinical environment.
Interest in academic, teaching, and research activities.
