Position Overview: We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our engineering, R&D, CAD, quality assurance, and technical information teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to have a direct and substantial influence on our strategic direction and growth. You will work closely with our executive team and have direct access to our CEO, making significant contributions and seeing the immediate impact of your work.
Key Areas of Responsibility: Product Development & Quality Assurance: Lead the R&D team to ensure full-scale development of projects from concept to final product. Ensure projects are completed on schedule and compliant with all applicable regulations and standards.Project Design & CAD Team Management: Ensure designs maintain structural integrity and are detailed enough for fabrication and are provided in a timely manner. Oversee the CAD team to ensure timely completion of drawings. Provide custom designs for complex applications where required. Review custom projects with view to reducing custom work by standardizing components and making those components stockable.Structural Design & Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations. Manage technical documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards. Ensure the company is kept up to date with this information by publishing internal documentation.Living Our Core Values: Demonstrate our core values of being driven, a team player, serving others, humility, urgency, and quality in all aspects of your work.Desired Skills and Competencies: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registered with either the Province of Ontario or the Province of Quebec.Project Management ExperienceExpert knowledge of structural engineering principles, provincial building codes, and height safety industry standards.Strong management skills, including coaching, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office products.Excellent technical writing and research skills.Ability to obtain Working from Heights Certification.Proficiency in English (French is an asset).Why Join Us?
