Teaching - Early Childhood (Education & Training)Full timeDoonside Aboriginal Child and Family CentreSydney Region Aboriginal Corporation (SRAC) is a community-controlled, not-for-profit Indigenous organisation dedicated to improving the health, social, emotional, and economic wellbeing of Aboriginal people. Established in 1996, SRAC operates a Community Hub in Penrith and a Child & Family Centre in Doonside, offering a range of culturally safe and person-centred services to address disparities in education, health, and wellbeing for Indigenous communities.SRAC is currently seeking a Director of Early Childhood for our Doonside Aboriginal Child and Family Centre. In this role, you will oversee a 39-place early learning environment catering to children from birth to six years, dedicated to fostering resilience, cultural identity, and holistic development for Aboriginal children and families. The position provides leadership in delivering high-quality early education and support services, ensuring cultural safety, and guiding the educational program.Position SummaryAs the Director of Early Childhood, you will:Lead a dedicated team of educators in providing culturally appropriate care and education for Aboriginal children, with a strong focus on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS).Foster strong relationships with families, creating a supportive network that empowers parents and enhances outcomes for children.Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives.Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuously improving the quality of services.Support the cultural journey of our children by embedding Aboriginal ways of knowing and doing in all educational practices.Selection CriteriaDemonstrated experience working with Aboriginal children and families in a culturally sensitive and effective manner.ACECQA-approved Diploma of Children's Services or Bachelor of Teaching/Education (Early Childhood).Proven leadership skills, including staff development and team management.Strong understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and experience developing Quality Improvement Plans (QIP).Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Current Working with Children Check, First Aid accreditation, and other relevant certifications.Why Join SRAC?Play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of Aboriginal children and families.Be part of a supportive and culturally rich environment.Work in a community-driven organisation that values resilience, connection, and self-determination.This is a targeted position, and preference will be given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.
