Community Home Australia is the first non-institutional provider of specialist support and care to people living with younger onset dementia in the ACT. We offer permanent accommodation, planned and emergency respite (in our houses) and day programs (at Club Kalina in Greenway). Club Kalina currently operates 5 days a week.A competitive remuneration package including salary packaging and sector leading entitlements is available to the successful applicant. We offer 6 weeks annual leave, 20 days personal leave plus 12% superannuation to all team members. We work with staff at all levels to encourage a work life balance and offer considerable support to achieve this.Due to our ongoing expansion we are seeking applicants from suitably qualified individuals to join our growing team.Club Kalina offers a varied and individualised program of activities for people living with younger onset dementia and cognitive disability who receive funding from the NDIS as well as private fee paying guests from nursing homes and the community.All applicants must hold tertiary qualifications in Health (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapist) and have a strong desire to work with people living with dementia. People with relevant experience and ongoing education in dementia and person centred care are strongly encouraged to apply. Completion of ongoing specialist training in dementia care is a mandatory component of this position and you will be enabled to complete ongoing professional development as part of your employment. We also have strong links with the University of Canberra so opportunities to engage in research projects are often available.The role is a combination of management and program tasks and should be considered a hands on role. The Manager will work with their team to achieve the desired outcomes of our guests and the organisation and we require all staff to display considerable flexibility and a willingness to engage with our guests to enable them to live their lives as they wish. Considerable resources and support are available to enable the manager to achieve the organisations goals.The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a team of dedicated staff and report to the Chief Operating Officer as a member of the senior leadership team.Applicants must be living in Australia and have full working rights.
