How will I help?
If you thrive on designing effective product marketing, executing strategic communications, and stakeholder collaboration, this is the role for you.
As the Director Marketing & Communications, you will lead BT's Marketing and Communications team in the design, execution, and measurement of the organisation's go-to-market strategy and be responsible for leading an experienced team of marketing professionals across product marketing, communications, sponsorships, events, digital, brand and creative producers. This role is essential for developing and executing the BT marketing and communication strategy to ensure our activity and messaging is clear and impactful in-market along with ensuring our activity is aligned to brand and our strategic growth initiatives.
You'll design and develop end-to-end communications for customers, advisers, and licensees, safeguarding and enhancing our brand. You'll also be responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships across the business including the BT Leadership team, Product, Distribution, Data & Analytics and Project teams. Your expertise in strategic planning, detail orientation, tight deadline and budget management and exceptional writing skills will be critical to deliver top-tier marketing presence and communications across various channels (including eDM, social, conferences, sponsorship and digital).
In this role, you will also closely collaborate with Westpac Group Corporate Affairs, aligning to programmatic activity for the BT CEO Office and to protect reputation. You will be responsible for crafting innovative and go to market strategies, strategic communications, offering expert advice on emerging issues, managing crises, and engaging stakeholders to drive positive communications.
Key Accountabilities:

Develop and clearly articulate an annual Marketing and Communications strategy positioning the BT value proposition, messaging, go-to-market strategy and the rollout of existing products and features, with a focus on maximising value from digital and traditional media considering segmentation mix and market dynamics.
The use of data driven insights to create metrics to measure and report on the success of all marketing activities.
Own the BT communications centre of excellence including but not limited to the creation of the communications strategy and framework that reflects the BT Voice in all communications.
Develop and implement an impactful PR strategy & activities to drive quality press coverage through media engagement, in alignment with communications objectives.
Assess the market, competitors, industry trends and customer needs. You should know your market, competition and customers be able to integrate this information into your product marketing plans.
Collaborating closely with the Distribution team to ensure strong messaging in market and to help drive effective sales results.
Collaborating with the product team and delivery squads to regularly evaluate our proposition in market, offering suggestions for improvement or future growth.
Develop holistic communication strategies and plans to address business needs, projects, product changes, or regulatory initiatives.
Align communications with business strategy, brand strategy, campaigns, and project objectives.
Collaborate with Westpac Group Corporate Affairs to ensure the CEO Office is protected reputationally, both with internal employees and externally in-market, escalating issues and keeping Corporate Affairs across all activities.
Consider the impact on all customer groups (licensees, advisers, clients) and devise key messages and select channels to optimise effectiveness and impact.
Manage internal and external suppliers to execute tasks, such as internal studio and mail house.
Comply with risk management frameworks.

What do I need?

In-depth sector expertise and understanding of B2B channel marketing in a leadership role.
Demonstrated experience in financial services, with a strong understanding of licensee, adviser, employer, and member audiences.
Demonstrated people leadership experience.
Proven track record in creating marketing / Communication strategies.
Understand key business metrics, operations, and drivers that impact your team and stakeholders.
Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex, technical information.
Excellent verbal communication and relationship management skills to negotiate the best outcomes for customers.
Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to implement initiatives and deliver results.
Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously.
Innovative and creative thinker with a continuous improvement mentality.
Degree in Marketing or Communications.
