The Role As the Director Legislation and Policy, you will lead a dynamic multidisciplinary team responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of Consumer Protection legislation and policy in accordance with the priorities set by the Department and the WA State Government.
You will be at the forefront of developing the department's strategic direction relating to state-based consumer legislation, policy, and the national development of the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You will identify and understand societal, political, and economic trends in order to provide high level advice to the Department's executive and the WA State Government.
Your guidance will be invaluable in meeting government and community priorities through effective legislative review and reform, and policy development projects. As the Director, you will play a key role in the design and development of consumer protection policy and its evaluation, ensuring that performance standards are met.
Well-developed leadership skills with a superior ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships, along with exceptional communication and organisational skills will be key to your success in this role. You will engage your team to achieve positive outcomes and deliver on government priorities.
Leading a multidisciplinary team of legal policy officers, policy officers and project staff, you will be flexible in your leadership style, with a focus on developing the team and providing continuous learning opportunities.
