• The role of the Director Koori Employment and Cultural Strategy is to work across CSV and the jurisdictions, providing an informed, professional and efficient service on all aspects of human resources (HR) management and strategy for Koori employees, in line with CSV's Strategic Plan, Self-determination Plan and Koori Employment Policy.This includes partnering with managers and the Koori Leadership Group to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions in relation to organisational development, culture and change to deliver outcomes and manage issues.
• The role requires strong conceptual and analytical abilities to develop, and support improved and equitable human resource policies for Koori employees of CSV. Working within the , this role will engage with both internal and external stakeholders to improve the design and delivery of human resource initiatives for Koori staff.
About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'. Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdictions own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities.
About the Role
The Dhumba Murmuk Djerring Unit (DMDU) was established to support the development, implementation and evaluation of Koori programs and policies across the Victorian Courts Group. The Director, Koori Employment and Cultural Strategy sits within the Dhumba Murmuk Djerring Unit, and is responsible for providing advice on policy reform with a particular focus on self-determination in a courts context and will lead the development of a Cultural Competency Framework.

About You
Successful candidates will have experience in human resource management as it relates to First People, an in-depth understanding of cultural barriers and supporting a large Koori workforce, a solution focused outlook in the development and delivery of cultural competency programs to meet workplace needs, and the measurement and evaluation of the impact of such programs and experience in working at a senior level in a complex and dynamic governance environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, briefings, presentations and recommendations on broad and complex issues are essential to this role. Tertiary qualifications in human resources or relevant field are highly desirable, and successful applicants must be able to demonstrate their work with Aboriginal people and communities, including strong culturally informed stakeholder engagement.
