Your new opportunity As the Director of Intergovernmental Relations at Queensland Treasury, you'll have the unique opportunity to influence national policy and agreements, working alongside the Executive Director and a team of policy specialists. You'll utilise your strong relationships across governments and your high-level analytical and communication skills to provide strategic advice on a broad range of issues. In this role, you will:With the Executive Director, lead and manage the Intergovernmental Relations team, fostering a positive team culture based on collaboration, accountability, and an outcomes-focus.Provide expert advice to ensure current and emerging intergovernmental issues are understood and offer strategies to maximise outcomes for Queensland.Manage relationships across Queensland Treasury and other Queensland Government departments, and with the Australian Government and other state and territory governments.Provide strategic direction on intergovernmental issues to ensure activity aligns with Queensland Government priorities and robust processes.What experience you will bring:Proven experience in leading teams and/or projects under pressure, delivering results while maintaining team cohesion.Expertise in providing strategic, practical, and solutions-oriented advice.Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message to the audience.Demonstrated ability in relationship management that encourages information sharing and collaboration.Effective judgement, communication, and understanding of perspectives in developing solutions and working with others.Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.How to apply To submit your application, click on the Apply link to provide: Your resume detailing relevant experienceA cover letter of no more than two pages outlining why you are interested in this position and how your knowledge, skills and experience makes you a strong candidate for the role.We welcome applicants to share with the hiring manager any health condition, disability, and/or cultural or linguistic background, so that we may make any necessary adjustments to enable you to equitably participate in the recruitment process.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
