Community Development (Community Services & Development)What you will be doing:Oversee an acquisitions team that has responsibility for the identification, development, implementation and execution of contracts and procurement relating to the acquisition of land (including the acquisition of existing assets which could be used for social housing, such as retirements villages, hotels and motels, as appropriate).Oversee the project planning team responsible for the planning assessments and approvals for public housing, including engaging with key stakeholders such as councils and community.Lead engagement with regional stakeholders (e.g., local councils, housing service centres) on planning and development opportunities, and advocate for public housing that meets the needs of communities across Queensland.Oversee the provision of valuation & procurement advice to support a range of portfolio opportunities.Oversee the provision of advice on land tenure and native title matters with Legal Services and property conveyancing.Operate with a commercial mindset to stimulate portfolio growth and identify innovative investment opportunities and commercial arrangements with the private sector.Lead and engage proactively across the Social Housing Delivery Office, Social and Affordable Housing Growth, the wider Housing department including programs and service delivery areas, and other relevant agencies to ensure public housing opportunities are realised.Demonstrate a strategic understanding and approach to housing delivery including the broader housing market, development and construction sectors and market trends to ensure contemporary practices are central to public housing delivery.Oversee a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.What we are looking for:Adopts a planned and comprehensive approach to implementing organisational change.Works effectively with other parts of the organisation and sector to deliver results.Builds and maintains productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Communicates in a way that is appropriate for the situation, and that promotes trust, respect and integrity.Motivates individuals and creates a culture where people want to 'go the extra mile' and builds a cohesive and supportive team environment.Organises various resources (people, funding, material, support) to achieve results.Models ethical behaviour and consistently applies those ethical standards to self and others.Is viewed as trustworthy, honourable and truthful, and respectful of the views of others.Provides advice and makes decisions that are rigorously considered and supported by a clear rationale, using analysis, experience and judgement.Mandatory requirements:Although not mandatory, Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Property Economics or Property Valuation would be highly desirable.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/602927/24Closing Date: Thursday, 21 November 2024
