Director-General.
Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, MulticulturalismAs Director-General of the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism, you will play a significant role in influencing the execution and successful delivery of the Queensland Government's commitments that reflect the government's vision for Queensland.
The commitments are:

Working closely with other agencies, peak bodies, local leaders, and the community to lift the living standards of Aboriginal communities and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Facilitating an environment where multicultural communities want to call Queensland home by harnessing their skill and expertise and celebrating the cultural diversity of our State.
The Department will deliver the following services in 2024-2025 service areas:
Strategic Policy, Legislation and Reform – leading the strategic policy, legislation, and reform for the agency, including:Office for Women – improving the lives, rights, and wellbeing of women and girls in QueenslandAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships - improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through a Queensland wide Regional Service Delivery NetworkMulticultural Affairs Queensland – improving outcomes for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and helping to build safe, caring, and connected communitiesThe Ministerial Charter Letter provided in the Candidate pack outlines the identified priorities to be delivered by the department.
Leading the DepartmentAs Director-General, you will play a key role in advancing gender equality by focusing on policy and leadership that enhances the lives of women and girls, fosters the economic and social integration of culturally diverse Queenslanders, and delivers programs and services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, including through delivering a range of Closing the Gap initiatives.
You will:
provide strategic leadership that demonstrates a clear and compelling vision of communication, governance, and values-based management to the department and its employeespreserve and build productive working relationships with stakeholders, identifying tactful and diplomatic management practices to support their differing and competing requirements and prioritiesmobilise effective and efficient governance, administration, and operation of the department, fostering an environment of accountability for the performance of its functions and associated outcomescoordinate the appropriate services required to ensure the Minister is positioned to deliver the priorities set out in the Ministerial Charter Letter for the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalismpursue with transparency, the administration of the department's legislation as set out below to promote their purpose, encouraging innovation through understanding of the principal responsibilities required to deliver the Queensland Government's objectivesmodel to the highest level, the standards of ethical behaviour operating with transparency in decision making, establishing consistency for the application of these practiceslead through awareness, demonstrating clear rationale to exemplary problem-solving and decision-making practices, encouraging the sector's ongoing commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.As a Chief Executive of the Queensland Government, you are expected to provide exemplary leadership qualities that align to the Leadership competencies for Queensland.
