Salary: PSCSAA 2022, Level 8, $144,597 to $156,598
The Director Financial Accounting is responsible for ensuring that the Department (and supported agencies) account for financial transactions in accordance with relevant legislation and policy.
You will lead the financial accounting team and deliver best practice in financial reporting and controls for the Department. In doing so, you will contribute towards the achievement of the Department's commitment in preparing the annual financial statements in line with the accounting standards, relevant legislation and the timely resolution of Office of the Auditor General and Internal Audit findings.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate: Extensive experience in leading and managing in a financial management environment.Substantial experience in statutory financial accounting and reporting obligations.Significant, in-depth, knowledge of current and emerging trends in a financial management environment.Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and broader community values in mind.A relevant qualification in finance, commerce, business or equivalent.Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context of Leading Leaders as outlined below.Current membership of CPA Australia as a CPA or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia as a CA, or the Institute of Public Accountants as a Member, or an overseas accounting body that is recognised by at least two of the above-mentioned bodies as having requirements for membership equivalent to those of the approving body.
