Join the Economics and Capital Markets Team (ECM) and play a key role in shaping global investment strategies. As a key member of ECM, you'll influence decisions that drive our investment objectives, collaborating closely with stakeholders at every level, from the Board, the Investment Committee to sector teams.ECM has three pillars:Strategic Themes – the long-term drivers of economic and financial market outcomes;Cyclical Macro – understanding cyclical fluctuations in the global and regional economies and policy responses;Capital Markets – understanding what is priced into various asset markets and the implications for portfolio positioning.In this role, you'll spearhead the Cyclical Macro pillar, shaping views on current macroeconomic conditions and influencing portfolio construction decisions. While your focus lies on leadership of the Cyclical Macro pillar, the collaborative nature at Future Fund will provide significant opportunities to contribute across the ECM pillars and the broader Investment Team.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Director, Developed Market Macro, you'll:Identify key uncertainties and short-term scenarios in the major market economies, including Australia and the US.Shape portfolio strategies with macro insights, optimising asset allocation decisions.Develop and enhance macro forecasting frameworks and capital market models.Contribute to the development of the Future Fund's New Investment Order framework, guiding our economic and market outlook.Deliver compelling macro and market outlook presentations to key stakeholders including the Chair, Board and Investment Committee.Cultivate strategic relationships with external research providers, central banks and policymakers.Collaborate with sector teams and incorporate their insights into ECM's views on the external investment environment.Mentor and nurture junior team members, fostering growth and development across the Agency.About YouWe're looking for a leader with a passion for macroeconomics and a proven track record in translating insights into actionable investment strategies.To excel in this role, you will possess:A proactive, inquisitive, and practical approach to problem-solving.Experience in identifying short and long-term thematic trends with an investment focus.A diverse academic or professional background enriching your perspective.Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a collaborative environment.Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire and empower others.To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian citizenship.About UsEstablished in 2006, the Future Fund is Australia's Sovereign Wealth Fund.
