Achieve meaningful outcomes for the WA resources sectorOpportunity to work within an executive teamCBD-based with flexible working arrangementsThe Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA (CME) is seeking a strategic and dynamic communication and campaign expert to join the team as a Director – Communications and Campaigns. In this pivotal role, you will modernise and drive CME's communication and campaign strategies, promoting CME's and our member policy positions on significant issues impacting the resource sector.
As a member of CME's executive team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead a creative and collaborative team towards success.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work with some of the most experienced professionals in the resource and communications sectors, with the prospect to meaningfully shape the future of the resource sector in WA through collaboration with resource sector companies, government, and communities to generate mutual benefit.
CME is open to relocation assistance for the right candidate.
What will you be doing? Develop and implement a comprehensive and modern communication and campaign strategy aligned with CME's strategy and business plan.Lead and inspire the Communications and Campaigns team to achieve business success.Drive all communications and campaign activities, ensuring timely and professional communication with relevant stakeholders and organisations.Ensure a thorough understanding of CME's policy positions and support the broader CME team in communicating these to the government and policy and advisory bodies, and in public debate.Provide strategic media and communication advice and recommendations to the CEO and the broader organisation.Oversee campaigns and events of importance to the sector, as identified by CME's members and approved by the CEO.Develop and implement traditional and innovative methods to elevate the resources sector and CME's brand.Edit and approve all CME print and electronic materials.Provide strategic leadership in relation to CME's brand management and style guidelines.Ensure a consistent and powerful brand image and position across all platforms.Chair the Public Affairs Working Group quarterly meetings.What are we looking for in you? 10+ years of experience in media, politics/government, or corporate affairs.Tertiary qualification in a related field.Proven experience in developing and delivering mass media campaigns.A creative and strategic thinker with the ability to think outside the box to achieve strategic objectives.Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience, including coaching and mentoring employees.Exceptional stakeholder management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Valid WA driver's licence.Commitment to CME core values of Accountable, Engaged, Inclusive, Integrity, and Respect.CME Employee Benefits At CME our people are important to us.
