Provet is part of Covetrus as the premier leading veterinary distributor across Australia and New Zealand and brings a long history of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in customer service to our vet and veterinary practice clients.We are currently seeking a category management and product leader to join our Sydney team at Erskine Park in the newly created role of Director – Category Management & Proprietary Brands. You will be an established business leader, responsible for setting and driving the category management strategy and ensuring best cost and appropriate product ranging for all categories across the ANZ region. You will also deliver accelerated growth through expanding existing and new categories, delivering profitable margins and by owning the new product development for the region.Your responsibilities will include –Leading, developing and transforming a team of category management and product professionals to ensure we are agile and best placed to adapt to changing market conditions.Building and driving a high performing category management capability through the oversight of all types of product categories for the Australian & NZ domestic markets.Overseeing supplier competitive analysis, performance metrics, research techniques, sourcing strategies, risk mitigation and contract management.Proactively identify emerging opportunities with business partners to support category strategy execution.Developing and implementing the go-to market strategies to bring new products to market, identifying new markets for growth, and the analysis of new business opportunities.Liaising with Marketing to plan B2B marketing and communication with accountability for the development and introduction of new products.Engagement with the Sales teams to develop comprehensive communication strategies to maximize client engagement and adoption of private label (Proprietary Brands) products.Playing an active role as part of the APAC leadership group in determining strategic direction and providing leadership support across the business in executing the strategic plan.About YouIdeally you will display –Demonstrated 10+ years within the animal health, human health and/or FMCG industry with a success record in leading and developing teams.Demonstrated influential leadership capabilities in stakeholder management to coordinate internal stakeholders and negotiate with external vendors.A strong track record in category management including demonstrated success in leading and transforming a category management function.Proven product and business development success in analysing markets, developing white label / generics product portfolios and launching these across multiple markets.A metrics-driven mindset and the ability to draw insights from complex data.Entrepreneurial skills to work in a rapidly changing, matrix style environment and the ability to effectively communicate, motivate and inspire cross-functional teams with professionalism.Strong commercial acumen to be able to translate strategic direction into operational plans.Why Join Us?At Covetrus, we're proud of our family friendly culture and respectful workplace.
