This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO),the successful applicant will be expected to not only demonstrateleadership of the Business Services Directorate, but also make asignificant contribution to the ongoing overall performance of theCity. This position will lead the following teams.
Systems & ProjectsGovernance ServicesProcurement and Contracts ServicesPeople and CultureFinancial ServicesInformation ManagementThe key objectives for the role, which can be read in moredetail within the position description, are as follows:
Provide strategic leadership, expert advice and oversightto Council, City officers, not for profit sector, State andFederal Government's and other stakeholders in mattersrelevant to the formulation and development of the strategicand policy objectives of the City.Lead, motivate, encourage, and inspire the development of ahighly effective, engaged, and professional Business Servicesdirectorate with a clear focus on the delivery of plannedoutcomes and the continual development of the capabilities andcapacities of the individual members of the team.Build quality relationships and deliver outstandingservices to key stakeholders including ratepayers, residents,governments, not for profit and private sector and the widercommunity.Provide effective coordination of Business ServicesDirectorate in accordance with relevant legislation, standards,and Council Policy.Lead the integration of departments to ensure a sharedvision of improving the quality of life for the City'sresidents.To be considered for this position you will have:
Degree in relevant discipline and possession of, orprogression towards, post graduate qualifications inmanagement.Significant experience in leading corporate teams in localgovernment.Commitment to self-improvement and professionaldevelopment.Significant experience in dispute resolution andnegotiation skillsWell-developed financial management skills for budgetpreparation, financial and governance controls and projectmanagement skillsThis position is a Designated Senior Employee on a five-yearperformance-based contract. A total remuneration package (includingsuperannuation) between $263,000 to $292,000 will be negotiatedwith the successful candidate.
