A rare opportunity has presented to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking professional to the new role of Director, Business and Community.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead a team of staff who will thrive under an engaged and supportive leadership style. Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead and manage the Business and Community team.Provide advice and direction across council's financial functions.Advise on legislative changes and ensure compliance and statutory requirements are met.Lead and manage community development and associated programs, including oversight of the Elliston Community and Visitor Information Centre.Oversee risk management and WHS requirements.Manage the ICT Framework.General administration of council functions.Enhance customer service and stakeholder engagement initiatives.Cemeteries management.Provide timely and accurate reporting as requested.Ideally, you will have a strong finance and administration background with the ability to effectively manage a broad portfolio and a diverse team of motivated and committed staff. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others will help maintain an outstanding workplace culture.
Candidates with a background in corporate governance, finance, and strategic planning are particularly encouraged to apply. It is preferred that you have Local Government experience and tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, law, or a related discipline.
