The District Council of Yankalilla strives to assist the local community and support the local economy whilst being accessible and promoting the healthy lifestyle and attractions of the region.Position Overview:Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director Assets & Environment is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for overseeing Capital Projects and Depot Operations, Coastal and Environmental Conservation, Regulatory Services, Planning and Asset Management.Key responsibilities include:Provide values-driven leadership to foster high performance and continuous improvementLead and direct departmental operations to achieve strategic and operational goalsOversee long-term viability and implementation of the Asset Management Plan and Capital Work Program (including renewal and maintenance plans)Ensure the management of the maintenance of Council's properties, parks, reserves, and coastlineEnsure effective maintenance of Council's property, plant and equipmentInterface with Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority to ensure effective waste management servicesEnsure the Planning team meets statutory requirements under the Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act 2016Develop strong and trusted relationships to provide expert advice to the CEO, Elected Members and Council and contribute to effective decision making.Candidate Profile:The ideal candidate will bring extensive senior management experience within local government, demonstrating strategic and results-driven leadership.
