APS Level 6 - People and Culture Advisor, WHS and Rehabilitation The APS6 Senior People and Culture (P&C) Advisor will be an experienced HR professional with demonstrated experience in WHS and Rehabilitation.
In this role you will work within a collaborative small team to provide partnerships with all areas of the Museum in the HR areas of WHS and Rehabilitation.
Your responsibilities will include the ongoing management of the Museum's workers compensation and rehabilitation program, and contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of health and wellbeing frameworks that support employee physical and mental health.
Working closely with the Manager of Work Health and Safety, under limited direction, you will assist with management of early intervention and wellbeing programs and initiatives and supporting the mental health capability framework.

The successful candidate for this position will have extensive knowledge of the Comcare rehabilitation and compensation scheme and related legislation. You will have a track record of building and maintaining stakeholder relationships to achieve positive outcomes and have exceptional interpersonal skills including empathy, compassion and listening. You will have exceptional liaison and negotiation skills and the ability to influence others.
You will be able to develop networks across the Australian Public Service and work collaboratively with people to achieve mutually satisfactory outcomes.

Demonstrated integrity and the ability to work as an effective team member who can be agile and innovative. The capacity to work under limited direction with reasonable autonomy and accountability. Make decisions using good judgment, expertise and knowledge for all WHS and Rehabilitation matters. Commitment to providing accurate and specialist advice and service to clients, with an emphasis on communicating effectively with a diverse range of staff and stakeholders. High level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write reports, procedures and policy relating to the position. Selection criteria
Excellent customer service skills and ability to provide complex advice and guidance regarding WHS and rehabilitation, working within the APS, Comcare and the Agency's legislative and policy frameworks. Demonstrated WHS and Rehabilitation experience with a focus on the wellbeing and health of staff and the ability to deliver quality outputs and achieve results. Demonstrated understanding experience in developing and implementing work health and safety, wellbeing and early intervention frameworks, policies and procedures. High level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the capability to negotiate and influence. Demonstrated initiative, with a drive to grow and develop, and problem-solving capability. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and create solutions whilst working effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision. An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Qualifications and/or experience in WHS or related field. Management of injury and workplace health and wellbeing.
