You could be one of our 2900 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the RoleAs part of the Operational Modernisation and Performance team, the Digital Operations Modernisation Manager will shape and lead the digital strategy for V/Line's Operations division, driving the transition to a modern, system-based environment.In this role, you will map the division's digital architecture, develop roadmaps for critical rail systems, and ensure these systems are equipped to meet both current and future needs. Leveraging best practices in rail and transport systemisation, you will collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvements and secure strategic investments.Additionally, as the subject lead for the Operations Digital Modernisation Program, you will establish governance frameworks with Business Services and IT teams, align priorities, and optimise resources to meet project milestones. This highly consultative role focuses on engaging stakeholders at all levels and aligning departmental visions to create synergy.Key Accountabilities include:Develop and manage the digital strategy for Operations, ensuring alignment with V/Line's modernisation priorities through consultation, engagement, and advocacy.Work with IT to establish governance frameworks, prioritise resources, and oversee system implementation projects.Serve as the Operations technical authority, managing escalations, aligning system design with business processes, and driving continuous system improvements.Develop data governance frameworks, enhance reporting capabilities, and use data insights to identify pinch points and inform long-term operational improvements.Evaluate V/Line's systems against industry best practices, explore emerging technologies, and build business cases to secure funding for system upgrades.Provide leadership to system subject matter experts, develop working frameworks, manage stakeholder expectations, and champion behaviour change to support technical improvements.Lead digital delivery using project and change management frameworks, ensuring smooth system testing, evaluation, and long-term benefit capture.About YouYou will be a consultative leader with exceptional stakeholder management skills to lead working groups, represent business needs, and develop integrated roadmaps that meet the evolving demands of V/Line's operations.Our ideal candidate will possess the following:Experience with project and change management frameworks to ensure initiatives deliver sustainable long-term benefits.Proven leadership and advocacy for assessing the current state and adopting new technologies and systems to suit operational requirements.Exposure to transport planning systems and industry best practices (highly regarded).Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a solution-focused mindset.Expertise in stakeholder management, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts.Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.In addition to free myki travel, we offer:Community impact – Make a genuine difference.
