Digital Communications Manager

Fantastic opportunity for an EL1 Digital Communications Specialist to join a federal government agency in Canberra.
This 12-month non-ongoing or temporary S26 transfer opportunity will see you managing key digital communication channels, including the corporate website, social media platforms, and e-newsletters.
You'll oversee the workplan to communicate the impacts and outcomes of scientific projects and manage external web developers, digital agencies, and designers for ongoing website improvements and digital communication projects.
Key responsibilities:Manage the development, QA, and maintenance of digital communication channels, including the website, Research Portal, and social media, ensuring user-focused, best practice solutions.Manage content creation, delivery, and evaluation, driving SEO and content strategies across digital platforms.Support content creation and updates that communicate project impacts and outcomes, including regular updates to program, country, region, and project pages.Coordinate with web developers/designers to deliver projects on time and within budget, ensuring full website functionality.Conduct website content audits ensuring WCAG 2.0 accessibility compliance.Liaise with subject matter experts and fact-check materials.Develop and maintain monitoring and reporting mechanisms to measure digital channel performance.The ideal candidate will have:Proven experience in leading the development of innovative digital content and website design.Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple social media and website projects, showing attention to detail and ownership.Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to research and evaluate information from diverse sources and communicate complex ideas to various audiences.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a small team and with external stakeholders.Proficiency in tools like Drupal, SharePoint, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Adobe Creative Cloud, SEO, WCAG 2.1, and basic graphic design.Tertiary qualification in communications, web, digital media, or related fields highly regarded.Australian Citizenship and based in Canberra.If you're ready to take the next step in a collaborative environment with flexible work arrangements, apply today!
