We have an opportunity that exists for an experienced Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join the Mobile Fleet team at George Fisher Mine.
Reporting to the Mobile Fleet Supervisor, you will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on planned maintenance.
The ideal person will be required to participate in all aspects of fleet maintenance by working within a team and promoting site safety standards and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained.
This position is residential in Mount Isa and requires you to work a 7 on / 7 off, day and night shift roster, providing grounds for an excellent work-life balance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Assist the Supervisor by acting in a leadership capacity for the crew including acting as the supervisor when supervisor is absent Contributing to potential improvements to work practices and conditions Provide feedback to the Supervisor on a regular basis Be proactive in maintaining competencies as specified in the UM1T Training Plan To deliver personnel and equipment to job sites and return surplus equipment to stores.
To assist in achieving budgeted development and production KPIs by performing varied tasks.
To contribute positively to the team environment, operate safely and assist with delivery of production targets within budget Mentoring apprentices.
Project work as required You will have the following skillset and attributes:
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role Trade qualified Diesel Fitter.
High risk work licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space, forklift licence; Mining experience preferred but not essential; Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills; Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail; Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure; Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment; Good communication skills; Willingness and ability to learn new processes; Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence; Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system; Experience in Excel would be an advantage.
