$54.34 to $64.91 per hour plus salary packaging Clinical Nurse Consultant/Clincial Support Nurse - Diabetes Education | permanant and fixed components About the role The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides leadership and expert consultancy to the Grampians Health Diabetes Education Team, ensuring high-quality diabetes care in Stawell.
You will lead service delivery, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and oversee both direct and indirect clinical care.
The role also involves contributing to strategic planning, supporting education and training, and maintaining advanced clinical knowledge.
You will act as a clinical resource, participate in research, and ensure accurate documentation in line with organisational requirements, while promoting person-centred care across all aspects.
Key Responsibilities Provide specialist diabetes services, including educational and therapeutic services related to diabetes, as well as direct and indirect clinical care.
Work within the defined scope of practice for diabetes education, in line with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) Role and Scope of Practice for Credentialled Diabetes Educators.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing staff, medical professionals, and consumers, to deliver person-centered care across all age groups.
Maintain advanced clinical skills and knowledge, demonstrating strong clinical leadership and acting as a role model in the specialty.
Serve as a clinical advisor, developing activities, projects, and contributing to research within the field of diabetes education.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with organisational requirements, while safeguarding privacy and confidentiality.
Skills & Experience Current AHPRA registration Postgraduate qualification in Diabetes Education.
Membership with a specific specialty association and/or nursing professional body, with current ADEA Credentialing.
Demonstrated ability to consult, collaborate, and work as an effective team member to achieve organisational outcomes.
Proven leadership within the healthcare workforce, with evidence of seeking opportunities to educate health professionals and the community about current practices.
Broad knowledge of professional, legal, and ethical requirements across various healthcare disciplines.
