We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate DFSV Trauma Counsellor to join our clients organisation. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Programs to support the clinical objectives of our organization, providing trauma-informed care to individuals and families impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV).The organisation is dedicated to supporting women and families affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence. They are driven by a mission to empower women, support their rights, and work towards gender equality and social justice.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with external service providers and government agencies, focusing on recovery and healing in the DFSV sector.Provide comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions using trauma-informed, client-centered approaches.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support and advocate for women impacted by DFSV.Contribute to policy development, service planning, and evaluation.Maintain accurate client care records in line with organizational policies and legal obligations.Selection Criteria:Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling, with eligibility or membership of a professional association.Experience in providing therapeutic intervention to survivors of DFSV, with a commitment to trauma-informed practices.Ability to provide culturally responsive counseling, particularly to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, with an understanding of intergenerational trauma.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.Essential Criteria:A genuine interest in and commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values.Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field, with eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association and/or registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.Demonstrated experience providing therapeutic intervention to victim-survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV), including a commitment to trauma-informed service delivery principles and practices.Demonstrated ability to provide culturally responsive counselling to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, with an understanding of the needs of Aboriginal communities, particularly concerning intergenerational trauma and the stolen generations.A commitment to ongoing cultural learning and critical self-reflection in relation to race, privilege, and power.Experience working collaboratively and effectively in a diverse workplace environment with multidisciplinary professionals to support the recovery and healing of women from DFSV.Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate individualised client-centred care plans in partnership with women impacted by DFSV.Knowledge of and experience using a trauma and violence-informed approach, including for the delivery of group work and casework.Capacity to develop effective working relationships and collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.Commitment to ongoing professional development, evidence-based practice, and continuous quality improvement to promote recovery and healing from DFSV.Commitment to working within a feminist, socially just, and anti-racist framework.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.Proven ability to confidently interact with stakeholders.Well-practiced interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact with staff at all levels and work effectively as part of a team.Clear National Criminal History Check.Join Us:If you are passionate about supporting recovery and healing for those impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.To apply hit APPLY NOW as we will be shortlisting for this position soon.For a confidential discussion OR to find out more about the role please call Emma McCaffrey on , or Connect on LinkedIn to stay up to date with all our vacancies.LinkedIn#J-18808-Ljbffr
