Job Title: Freedom of Information Coordinator

Key Responsibilities: Manage and process Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organizational policies.
Acknowledge receipt of FOI requests and ensure responses are provided within statutory timeframes.
Coordinate with internal departments and stakeholders to collect and review information relevant to requests.
Ensure all FOI requests and responses are compliant with applicable laws, such as the Freedom of Information Act, and any associated privacy or confidentiality requirements.
Monitor legislative updates and provide advice to the organization on FOI-related compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all FOI requests, responses, and associated communications.
Ensure proper filing and archiving of FOI correspondence for reporting and auditing purposes.
Serve as the primary point of contact for FOI enquiries, providing guidance and support to both internal staff and external requestors.
Liaise with relevant teams to clarify the scope of requests and ensure the completeness and accuracy of information provided.
Prepare regular reports on FOI activities, including request volumes, response times, and outcomes.
Identify trends or areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the FOI process.
Review and refine FOI processes and systems to improve efficiency and ensure best practices are maintained.
Contribute to policy updates and implementation of new systems for handling FOI requests effectively.
Essential to be successful in the role: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong research, analysis and problem-solving skills.
Interpreting and applying Legislation and Acts.
Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships.
Current valid NPC or ability to obtain one.
DESIRABLE: FOI Experience.
Communication Legal Services Diploma.
