Development Manager

Details of the offer

Are you a highly efficient manager and strategic thinker who is passionate about helping to find ways of connecting people with performance arts?
To work for Capital Theatres is to join people who believe everyone should have the chance to experience the joy, wonder, escape, community, and new perspectives that live performance offers. We are committed to nurturing everyone's creative journey.
Capital Theatres' mission is to build a sense of belonging across its three theatres in Edinburgh, enriching lives through the strength of its creative programmes and partnerships, sharing extraordinary experiences with everyone, again and again. The three venues we manage include two of Scotland's largest, oldest, and most respected theatres: Festival Theatre and the King's Theatre Edinburgh. Together they host over 700 performances each year with a broad and inclusive programme featuring the very best in drama, dance, musical theatre, family shows, live music, comedy, and pantomime. Much of the programme is exclusive in Scotland, providing the only opportunity for audiences to see the biggest shows touring north of the border, the best in international contemporary dance, and the latest productions from leading local and national companies.
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to join the Development Team. You will raise funds from statutory funders, trusts, and foundations, for a wide range of projects and programmes, as well as our important King's Theatre capital project. The role includes nurturing important relationships from a portfolio of funders and developing new relationships. You will be a proactive fundraiser who can confidently communicate our impact and plans, and be happy to sometimes host funders before and after our shows or at Creative Engagement events.
This is an exciting time to join Scotland's largest theatre charity as we deliver a new five-year business plan and seek to increase our fundraising income for a variety of new projects including our co-productions and artist development programme. Experience of fundraising for the arts and/or theatre would be advantageous, but is not essential.
