As a member of the Harvey Norman Information Technology team based at the corporate office in Homebush West, you will be part of a highly collaborative and enjoyable work environment.
Here, you will find satisfaction and purpose by advancing the eCommerce platform for one of Australia's largest retailers.
Your skills and experience will be pivotal to the team's success.
You will also act as a mentor to Junior Developers, guiding their growth and ensuring best practices are upheld.
Responsibilities include;  Working on a highly trafficked headless Storefront that is a fundamental part of our eCommerce platform.
Planning, building, documenting, and maintaining features across the headless Storefront (Next.js and Node/Express).
Engaging with libraries, frameworks, and tech such as React, Next.js (both pages and app), Node, Express, Apollo Server, and more.
Enhancing and expanding our Adobe Commerce platform by leveraging various APIs to send and receive data via GraphQL, REST, and other protocols.
Collaborating within a cross-functional Agile team, working closely with business stakeholders to design and plan optimal user experiences.
About you   You will be a highly experienced Senior Frontend Developer, specialising in building React applications within complex environments.
You will possess a deep understanding of web and mobile standards, responsive design, SEO best practices, performance optimisation, accessibility, and usability considerations.
Additionally, you will excel in building and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders.
You will also have:  Experience with vanilla JavaScript, React, React Hooks, React State Management (such as Context, Redux, etc) and preferably Apollo Server.
Experience with Next.js, Express and Node, including using Node/Express as middleware.
Experience in utilising APIs such as GraphQL and REST to build and extend features.
Experience with testing new and existing features through both manual and automated methods.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with operations, backend, middleware, testing, and support teams.
Knowledge of cloud services like Azure and container environments like Docker would be advantageous.
Knowledge of legacy JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as jQuery, Knockout, Handlebars/Mustache, RequireJS, Gulp, and Webpack, is a plus.
