Full time Services Australia (the agency) Fraud Control and Investigations Division (FCID) assist the agency to manage serious internal and external threats, risks and acts against the institution, its programs, and its customers.
The Intelligence Branch uses proactive intelligence strategies and sophisticated analysis techniques to produce high-quality intelligence advice to prevent, detect and disrupt fraud.
The branch contributes to a whole of government response to fraud by sharing intelligence and insights across the agency and with external partners.

We have an advanced, mature data analytics capability that enables our operational work, including a range of systems and tools that support our intelligence analysis and fraud response activities.
Developers within FCID are subject matter experts who provide technical advice and guidance to the Division on fraud systems, tools and bespoke applications.
The developer undertakes their work in the context of competing priorities and contributes to changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.
Position Description APS5 Developers are responsible for: Design of prototypes and testing support Development of software and technical design Development and maintenance of in-house software solutions Using their knowledge to provide technical advice as required Working under the support and general direction of senior staff Exercising a degree of independent judgement and making decisions within defined parameters that require some reliance on skills and knowledge Undertaking their work in the context of competing priorities and contributing to changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.
APS6 Senior Developers are responsible for: Design of prototypes and testing support Development of software and technical design Development and maintenance of in-house software solutions Exercising both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures Managing and organising their own work in the context of competing priorities, including contributing to business planning, changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies and working under the limited direction of senior staff.
