Despatch Officer

The role
If you have a passion for challenges and teamwork, then this is the opportunity for you.
Reporting directly to the Central Despatch Manager in Campbellfield head office, you will be one of the first points of contact for our customers, responsible for providing a high level of service, efficiency, and professionalism, while maintaining excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
You will be trained in despatch and scheduling and work alongside the despatch team; there is also a large focus on incoming and outgoing phone calls, and scheduling and allocations of both premixed concrete and raw materials.
You will learn new skills with on-the-job training, be exposed to the construction materials industry, and be part of a close-knit team, with potential opportunities to grow.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work Saturday mornings on a rotating roster (usually every second Saturday).
Responsibilities

Answering high volumes of customer calls professionally and efficiently.
Taking and input of concrete orders within the Melbourne concrete business.
Working with despatch for scheduling and daily truck movements.
Maintaining communication with sales, operations, and credit teams.
Ensuring safety, health, and environmental standards are maintained.
What you will need to succeed

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with diverse customers internally and externally.
Proven customer service experience, problem-solving abilities, and a good work ethic.
Willingness to learn and develop in this role.
Accuracy, consistency, and reliability are a MUST along with exceptional customer service skills.
Some geographical knowledge of Melbourne is preferred.
Commitment to health, safety, and environment policies and procedures.
