Melbourne - Permanent Designer Draftsperson Dynamic Development and Investment Organisation Modular Building Full Time | Western Suburbs Location About the Organisation This dynamic development and investment organisation has created a unique modular building solution to deliver housing product for their own developments.
They have created a supply chain from the production of modular housing in their own manufacturing facility through to site installation.
Whilst similar to traditional volume housing in areas, the individual components that make up the finished housing product include 3 dimensional prefabricated concrete structural elements, wall frames made from lightweight steel in the manufacturing facility and erects on site, and traditional fit out and finishing on site.
They have a close-knit team and wish someone to be part of something that they feel is bigger than themselves.
About the Role As the Design Draftsperson you will be required to work with a team of specialists focused on the design and manufacture of 3D precast panels.
You will work closely with the production team at the manufacturing facility, along with collaborating with the architectural and construction teams during the design phase.
A proactive approach is essential to ensure seamless integration between design and production.
Duties Create technical drawings, sketches, and detailed designs using CADD and REVIT software, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and calculations.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and the production team, communicating and incorporating feedback to prepare, review, and redraft designs.
Perform material and weight calculations, addressing potential design issues and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to secure engineering approvals, ensure compliance with lifting designs, and engage the manufacturing team early for new designs.
Maintain a drawing register and manage the audit trail of approved plans, ensuring compliance of "as-built" plans with approved designs, while managing sign-offs for any deviations.
Skills and Experience Bachelor of Science in engineering or architecture or degree from a technical college also acceptable.
Knowledge in using CADD and REVITT software.
Exposure to building / manufacturing environment with experience servicing both internal and external stakeholders Enjoy working independently and as part of a team.
