The Water team promotes holistic, sustainable water resource management, assisting governments, investors, developers, manufacturers, utilities, and corporations with network maintenance and development, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and future-ready strategies.In this role, you will drive the future-ready engineering design solutions and be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality design on water infrastructure projects, primarily in South Australia, with the potential to be involved in national flagship programs.
Key Responsibilities Deploy risk management principles and methodologies into project systems and processes. Accountable for business and project delivery, leading the delivery of high-quality design on projects. Work in partnership with other design organizations in Alliance or Joint Venture (JV) arrangements. Manage the design team and interface with the contractor workforce. Seek design team resources for each project and ensure adequate resourcing. Prepare design fee estimates for both the "tender design phase" and the "delivery phase" of each project. Liaise with other key roles within the Alliance or JV. Manage the overall delivery of designs to time, budget, and quality standards. Manage Engineering governance processes (design reviews, change management, requests for information, validation and verification, etc., related to the design). Qualifications and Experience Recognized Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical (Process), or Electrical Engineering. Relevant industry experience in the water utilities sector. Demonstrated high level of technical knowledge. Strong experience in working in partnership with other design organizations in Alliance or JV arrangements. Skilled in managing conflicts between organizational cultures and business systems demands. Extensive experience in owning and being responsible for signing off on designs that meet legal requirements, quality standards, and client outcomes on projects. Established and managed complex design processes and systems in high-profile projects. Proven competency in project management. Demonstrated leadership and management ability. Ability to juggle multiple tasks across several projects across the business unit. Basic knowledge of contracts or drafting variations (desirable). Knowledge and experience in cost reporting, analysis, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word (essential).
