We are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join our team on a full-time basis.
Overview of the role Forming part of the pre-contracts and project management team you will be responsible for leading the Design on all projects across a range of Residential, Schools, Aged Care and Commercial Projects as they move through design and construction.
You will drive the design process, manage and drive consultants, whilst contributing to the strategic direction of the team and wider business.
About the role Head office-based Design Manager Identify cost effective design solutions and value engineering Lead the design process and involve the best members of the team Review project requirements and appoint consultants Collaborate internally to maintain cost effective procurement strategies Managing client expectations and deadlines Design management and coordination Attending design site meetings Develop / manage the Design Program Collaborating with team members Leading the consultant teams and driving expectations Liaising with the PCA for Construction Certificates and Occupation Certificates as well as satisfying relevant DA Conditions.
Knowledge of Australian Standards (AS) and National Construction Code (NCC) Collaborate with the development and project management teams to achieve outstanding project outcomes Build effective relationships with external designer, contractors and consultants Managing changing requirements throughout the construction stages
Skills and experience required for the role Construction related degree - preferably Architecture / Design Efficient in Microsoft Office Previous experience with a D&C Contractor 10-15 years of relevant full-time work experience in Design & Construction
