Position: Veterinary Nurse - Dermatology DepartmentType: Full time or Part time position – on a 12-month contract (with the possibility of permanent employment)Locations: Glen Waverley and/or Essendon FieldsQualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent appropriate tertiary qualification is preferredExperience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in general practice requiredThe Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (MVSC) is a multi-disciplinary specialist veterinary centre providing services from three locations to veterinary practices within Melbourne.The dermatology department is seeking a veterinary nurse to provide high quality patient care and assist the specialist veterinarians in various tasks. The position requires a high level of nursing skills and experience coupled with the ability to learn new skills quickly and work within a fast-paced environment. The veterinary dermatology nurse will also communicate closely with clients, providing outstanding customer service and assist the dermatologist in various specialist consultations and procedures throughout the day.This is a full-time position or part-time position on a 12-month contract working 4 x 10 hour days per week for FT, with a rostered day off or negotiated days PT. There is a possibility that this role could lead to permanent employment for the right candidate.There is a requirement to work at our Glen Waverley and Essendon Fields locations but there may be some degree of flexibility dependent on candidates' locations.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Intradermal testing for allergiesAssisting with ear flushes, biopsies, laser surgery, MRI, hearing testsAssisting with consultations and dischargesClient phone calls, emails and follow upThis role would be ideal for a veterinary nurse who is highly motivated, can focus well, has good client and staff relationship skills, works well in a highly skilled team and has experience working in a busy department environment.If you would like to be considered for the role, please submit your cover letter and resume via the link!
