Salary: Level 3, $132,143 - $144,601 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Wandina Primary School (PS) is fostering an environment that encourages community participation while providing a nurturing and tranquil atmosphere. In our classrooms, effective teaching is demonstrated through the use of instructional strategies that promote strong achievements in Literacy and Numeracy, as well as effective classroom management that develops positive relationships between staff and students. We also offer specialized programs in Physical Education, The Arts (including Visual Arts and Music), Science and Indonesian for our students.
Wandina PS is looking for a Deputy Principal to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant should ideally have outstanding communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, and be committed to achieving the best outcomes to "Empower every student, every day". You will ideally have strong experience leading teacher quality, using evidence informed practices to improve learning outcomes for all students, and be able to work through complex situations individually as well as in a team environment.
Successful experience in leading school improvement is desirable, to support the school's current improvement agenda which is reflected in the Business Plan 2023 – 2025. The successful applicant will ideally possess a deep knowledge of curriculum, Explicit Instruction, and experience in providing support to staff in High Impact Teaching approaches from K - 6. The ability to think and respond strategically and identify innovative and practical solutions to challenges and opportunities is highly regarded.
You will also be required to lead the development and review of Operational Plans to create and drive strategic direction, assist with the analysis of whole school data to support planning, and to lead with an emphasis on improving student outcomes. The successful applicant will ideally be committed to working in professional learning teams, where there is a focus on collaboration, learning based on student needs and continual, rigorous school self-assessment and improvement cycles.
We require a pedagogical leader who will ideally be able to provide educational leadership across all areas of the school and the community, by developing and promoting the school vision, values, and priorities as well as encouraging staff, students, families, community, and others to share ownership of the school's vision and goals.
