The Role: The Department of Health are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join their team, primarily located at the North West Regional Hospital.
As a member of the Social Work team, the Deputy Manager – Social Work will: Provide high level clinical leadership, professional support, day to day management and coordination of the social work service at the North West Regional Hospital, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and service coverage is adequate.
Support the Social Work Manager in leading the SW team in the manager's absence.
Maintain an acute clinical caseload.
Please note: The occupant of this position will be required to: Work on site, attend home visits and agency visits.
Participate in after hours on call services, as negotiated through the on-call roster.

Details of appointment: Permanent, part-time, day worker position (with on-call), working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing from November 2024.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $120,114 to $130,181 pro rata, per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Public Sector Union Wages Agreement No.
2 of 2022. You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
Benefits available to eligible candidates: Professional development and accelerated pathways.
Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.

Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Eligible for membership OR a full member with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW.
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
Current Driver's Licence.
