About the Role Underpinning Tabcorp's success is great tech and a talented Technology business unit that drives innovation, sustainability and commercial success.
We're now seeking a Deputy General Counsel – Technology to join our Legal Team and support our Technology Group.
While you'll work across the entire business as required, your key focus will be to act as the principal legal advisor on all technology-related matters.
Therefore, you will:
partner with Procurement, Technology, Regulatory, and Information Security teams to review and negotiate contracts;manage commercial and legal risks by supporting business engagements with technology suppliers;lead technology-related transactional legal work and assist others in the Legal Team with specialist technology advice;proactively identify legal risks and develop commercially practical solutions to maintain an appropriate risk balance;develop and manage internal and external relationships (including suppliers and external legal counsel) to drive legal objectives and influence legal risk management;guide and mentor Legal team members and collaborate with the broader Legal Team to share knowledge and drive process improvement initiatives.For our Legal Team, working at Tabcorp is anything but ordinary.

What you'll Bring To be successful in this role you'll be accomplished legal counsel with a proven track record of providing commercially focused, pragmatic and effective legal advice in support of technology operations.
You'll have developed this experience either in private practice and/or a large, complex and highly regulated corporate environment.
You'll also demonstrate:
strong experience in technology, procurement, privacy and IP related matters;broad experience across a mix of transactional, advisory and dispute work;strong commercial nous and a practical understanding of technology led environments;ability to provide advice that balances commercial, legal and reputational risks;first-rate communication, negotiation, influencing and drafting skills;a strong team player with the ability to mentor more junior team members;proven ability to work in collaboration with colleagues or operate autonomously.Next Steps Apply today by clicking on the relevant link.
