EL 2 Project Manager - Defence Service Homes Insurance Established pursuant to the Defence Service Homes Act 1918, DSH Insurance was created to provide home building insurance to protect the homes of men and women returning from WWI who obtained subsidised housing loans. From 1 January 2020, eligibility to access DSH Insurance was expanded to include all current and former members of the ADF with at least one day of service, including Reservists, Peacekeepers, and widows/widowers of those ADF members.
There are some 46,000 building policies across Australia. The Scheme is fully self-funded from premium income and operates much like any other commercial general insurance provider.
The strategic reform project of DSH Insurance is a complex initiative involving all elements of the Scheme to enhance its ongoing financial viability. This role will be accountable for working with the DSH Insurance National Manager to deliver legislative and Insurance Partner reforms. The project will also involve close collaboration with internal DVA business areas, the DSH Insurance leadership team, and various external commercial stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
