Location - Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available Employment type - Temporary position up to December 2025 (35 hours) Salary - Clerk Grade 9/10, Base Salary ($120,859 - $133,183), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role As a Senior Project Officer at the Children's Court, you will manage and coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of critical court projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to legislative reforms and enhance the functioning of the Children's Court. What you'll do As part of the Children's Court team, you will lead the development and documentation of new court procedures, ensuring alignment with legislative reforms. You will manage the preparation of key project documents, such as project plans, guidelines, and training materials, while providing high-level advice to senior court officials.
You will also:
Coordinate stakeholder consultations and meetings, representing the Children's Court in high-level committees. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project progress. Ensure projects meet statutory deadlines and align with organisational objectives. Provide advice and updates to senior officials regarding project status and implementation. Work as part of a collaborative team of experienced professionals in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, and you'll be working in a supportive, justice-focused office setting. What we're looking for Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of key legislation, including the Children's Court Act 1987, Children's Court Rule 2000, Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998, Children (Criminal Proceedings) Act 1987, and the broader child protection and Youth Justice systems. Experience in managing and coordinating projects with a legal policy context. Ability to engage with and represent the Children's Court in meetings. Strong skills in providing advice and developing key performance indicators (KPIs). Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances: National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014. Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
