The Opportunity as our Scientist you will:
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, technical and support staff, to support research and development into innovative methods for eradication of the red imported fire ant by providing specialist expertise to undertake laboratory, field-based, and desktop research activities supporting the delivery of world-class, contemporary scientific services.
• Work independently to plan, design and initiate small-to medium-scale research projects that align with the Program's strategic objectives.
• Guide and oversee small project teams, where necessary, to ensure project outcomes are achieved in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures, protocols, and methodologies to generate robust data.
• Conduct analysis and interpretation of data, communicate complex scientific information through the delivery of reports and presentations as required, and contribute to the publication of scientific research papers.
• Where relevant, liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships to achieve Program outcomes. This may include collaborating with internal stakeholder groups to execute and complete project work, communicating complex scientific information with property owners and/or industry stakeholders, and attending local and state forums/committees/community events to raise awareness of the scientific basis behind fire ant management practices.
