Department Manager - Cheese West Hobart

This full-time role is for applicants with experience in, and a well-developed knowledge of cheese. If you do not yet have this experience, please apply to one of our entry-level roles instead.As a Cheese Department Manager, you will:Showcase your cheese knowledge by displaying and selling Tasmania's best range of fine local and international products.Create visually enticing displays to encourage customers to sample and learn about cheese.Keep displays replenished and fresh.Cut, wrap, and price cheeses.If you have experience working with cheese (within retail, hospitality, production, or as a cook, chef, deli assistant, or cheese monger), feel ready to step into a leadership role, and are available during the daytime, we would love to hear from you!You will need:At least one year's experience working with cheese.A friendly attitude and good communication skills, to provide the attentive customer service Hill Street is known for.Readiness to lead, teach, and nurture your team, and organize your department.Energy, initiative, and a positive mindset, as well as a love of working with food and people.The ability to follow company procedures and regulations, particularly regarding food handling and workplace health and safety.Ongoing daytime availability on at least 3-4 days per week and every second weekend.
